Sometimes we think that God can only bless us when things are going well. But hard times cannot hold back the blessings of our God.
Genesis 39:1 And Joseph were brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmaelites, which had brought him down thither.
2 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man, and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
23 The keeper of the prison looked not to anything that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it prosper.
The story of Joseph is one of the faithfulness of God, in the most difficult of times. We know how Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery. But because of God’s blessings upon his life, Joseph became a prosperous man; even in slavery. The master Joseph was serving saw God’s blessing upon him and made Joseph the ruler of his entire house.
Later, when Joseph was cast into prison being falsely accused by the master’s wife, God’s blessings were evident even there as well. In prison, like as in the master’s house, the jailer placed Joseph over all the prison’s operations. And, the Bible says that God caused all that Joseph did to prosper.
Many times we place limitations on God’s ability to prosper us. We may say because of our job, the economy, or other adverse situations, God is unable to prosper us.
However, the believer who trusts God knows that no circumstances are able to keep God’s blessings out of his life. In fact to the contrary, God’s blessings are even more evident during difficult times.
Offering Admonition/Confession
Our God is a great God. Just as God prospered Joseph no matter the situation, God is well able to prosper us in any circumstance of life. With this faith in God, we gladly give.
Remember the message on the Law of Exchange, whatever you want, first give. Whatever you give it will come back to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over!
God bless you.
